OMEN Guitarist Promises To Perform Songs Which Haven't Been Played Live For Years
June 4, 2006Helena of www.metalzone.gr is reporting that highly acclaimed guitarist, mainman and founding member of the legendary power metallers OMEN, Kenny Powell visited Greece in order to attend two OMEN tribute heavy metal parties which took place in Athens and Thessaloniki. During his stay in Athens, Kenny gave an interview to the "Metalzone" radio show revealing the upcoming touring plans of OMEN, and many details of his career as well as his opinion on the current situation of the metal scene. Kenny had the chance to answer the questions of the listeners, talk with them live and get the familiar feeling of belonging in Greece. The Greek fans once again proved to Kenny their sincere love and admiration and their honest anticipation for the upcoming OMEN live shows in September. In return Kenny promised the Greek fans they will perform songs which haven't been played live for years.
OMEN will be touring over Europe the first two weeks of September. Stops include Belgium, Germany and Italy before the tour's scheduled conclusion in Greece. There is also a chance of several shows in Spain, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Coming back to the reason why Kenny visited Greece, the "Metalzone" OMEN tribute parties were very successful and an entirely new experience for Kenny as it was the first time he played live without a band. The Greek audience responded really well to the venture and the outcome was very rewarding. Many fans got the chance to speak with Kenny in person, had him sign albums, LPs, CDs, even clothes he had given them on his previous visits to Greece.
